Essential Support Program (ESP)

At Oceana Community Health Inc., we recognize that true wellness goes beyond the clinic walls. Our Essential Support Program was created to provide patients with access to the basic daily necessities that can significantly impact health, dignity, and decision-making. This program is especially vital in supporting those at risk for or living with STDs, where social instability, hygiene barriers, or lack of essential items can become direct obstacles to accessing care or maintaining treatment.

The Essential Support Program runs in tandem with our STD services, reinforcing our belief that comprehensive sexual health must be supported by wraparound services. Whether a patient is newly diagnosed, undergoing treatment, or working toward stability, these resources ensure that no one has to choose between health and survival.

Items available through the Essential Support Program may include:

This program plays a critical role in promoting health equity by meeting essential needs that often go unaddressed. Our goal is to help patients stay healthy, safe, and supported at every step of their care journey.

Oceana’s H.E.A.L
(Health Education, Access & Literacy Program)

At Oceana Community Health Inc., we believe that health equity begins with health literacy. Our H.E.A.L Program is a community-based initiative designed to bring knowledge, tools, and care directly to the people we serve. Through a combination of street outreach, educational engagement, and peer-to-peer empowerment, HEAL ensures that individuals not only gain access to care, but also understand it.
HEAL is especially impactful in communities affected by higher rates of STDs and chronic conditions, where limited knowledge or stigma can delay prevention and treatment. By meeting people where they are, physically and educationally, HEAL strengthens our STD services by empowering patients with the awareness to seek care early, understand risk, and participate in their own health decisions.

Our HEAL Program activities include:

The HEAL Program helps close the gap between knowledge and action; building trust, breaking down barriers, and giving every individual the tools to take charge of their health.
